“If you can’t convince them, confuse them.”
This quote is attributed to Harry Truman. In fact the US president was not advocating confusion as a political trick but asserted that his opponents were doing so, unscrupulously.
Today we are in political turmoil where nothing is as it once seemed. And nobody knows for sure who is the most unscrupulous.
An excellent article published in The Looking Glass points out that ‘traditional affiliations and identities associated with concepts of left and right are now so disordered that they have become meaningless’.
“The left of the 2020s has abandoned liberalism, for a kind of new quasi-fascism. It seeks to limit all ideas that deviate from this new orthodoxy. It is punitive and seeks life and career destroying punishment for those who step out of line.”
And what about the right?
“Anyone who has traditionally voted centre-left or centre-right but refuses to go along with the illiberal politics of the ‘left’ are now lumped in the new ‘hard-right’ bag.”
In a nutshell, the left has leaned over so far left that they are now right and the right is more liberal than the left once was.
And what is an ‘extremist’ these days?
The Looking Glass article says the term is now being applied to people who have grievances with the current Labour government and its covid response policies.
Let’s look at some other points of confusion:
All cause mortality figures around the world have prompted calls for government inquiries to determine if there is a link to the COVID vaccine rollout.
At 11am on Saturday, September 10, doctors from across India met virtually with doctors from 34 countries to sign a Declaration of International Medical Crisis.
The declaration reads: “We, the medical doctors and scientists from all over the world, declare that there is an international medical crisis due to the diseases and deaths co-related to the administration of products known as “COVID-19 vaccines”.
However, a cardiologist has suggested herbal supplements might be to blame: common supplements like fish oil and bitter orange have been linked to heart problems.
Really?!
In the meantime, a new study looks at excess mortality in Germany 2020-2022:
In 2020, the observed number of deaths was close to the expected number. By contrast, in 2021, the observed number of deaths was above the expected number. The high excess mortality in 2021 was almost entirely due to an increase in deaths in the age groups between 15 and 79 and started to accumulate only from April 2021 onwards.
The authors said their finding led to several questions, the most important being the covariation between the excess mortality and the COVID-19 vaccinations.
And things aren’t looking too rosy across the ditch in Victoria, where 95 percent of adults have received COVID vaccines and most are boosted with mRNA shots. Deaths here are far above the five-year average.
But the New Zealand government is pushing on with its drive to get jabs into arms, undeterred by widespread safety concerns and in spite of the fact that the vaccines do not prevent infection, transmission, hospitalisation or death.
A government promotion on my phone tells me I need to stay up to date with my vaccinations and I’m urged to book my booster.
I’m told: “This will lower your chances of getting very sick from COVID-19 and ending up in hospital.”
Really?!
I’m confused.
The government hears no warning bells. everyone aged 5 and over can be vaccinated for free. Kids are encouraged. “Like all medicines, you might experience some mild side effects in the days after getting your vaccination. This is common, and a sign that your body is learning to fight the virus.”
The Danish Health Authority will no longer recommend the COVID-19 vaccine for those under the age of 18.
In the US CDC director Rochelle Walensky says everyone aged over 12 needs to get their booster vaccine, while Dr Paul Offit, of the same outfit, says don’t.
It’s a crazy, divided world.
More than a year ago any scientist who dared say the vaccine would not prevent getting COVID was accused of spreading disinformation. Now it can be said that any claim that the vaccine prevents infection is, at least, misinformation.
In the US, thousands of healthcare workers were fired for not getting vaccinated. Later vaccinated asymptomatic healthcare workers, who had tested positive for COVID, were asked to return to work.
Confused?
Now, in the midst of all this conflicting information, there’s the pressing question of the World Health Organisation and its global health plan.
At this stage the political trick of confusion escalates. You could say ‘if confusion doesn’t work, scare them’.
On Thursday, WHO Director-General Tedros spoke at the inaugural meeting of the Governing Board of the ‘Financial Intermediary Fund for Pandemic Prevention, Preparedness and Response’.
“We all know that the COVID-19 pandemic has been a seismic shock to global health and the global economy. But we also know that this will not be the last pandemic. The next one is a matter of when, not if. The effects of climate change, urbanisation and deforestation all mean that the frequency, severity and economic impact of epidemics and pandemics are only going to get bigger, unless we take concerted and coordinated action, as one global community”, he warned.
Earlier this year, WHO published a white paper, with key proposals for a set of international health regulations.
They say they want to build a ‘healthier, safer, fairer future for all the people of the world’.
Really?!
But listen up. WHO officials want to hear your views - though they gave the public just five days to submit videos and not everyone has the means or skills to create a video.
The question they ask: “Based on your experience with the Covid 19 pandemic, what do you believe should be addressed at an international level to better protect against future pandemics.”
You have until Tuesday to submit your video and they require the ID card or equivalent documentation of anyone who sends in a video.
It’s feared that, under WHO’s proposed agreement, the laws of all the nations will be nullified, and the entire world will be subject to its rules: WHO will be able to declare a pandemic and then demand unquestioning submission to whatever guidelines it issues.
WHO is majority funded by private enterprise. Its bosses and officials are not democratically elected but it expects us to trust it as it seeks control of global health.
Really?!
