Geese
Liver loaded geese,
we stretch our necks,
choking on slippery words
and thinly disguised propaganda.
Weapons of war indeed,
crafted and honed by the mindset of
bureaucrats and tyrants.
But the drumbeat of
discernment alerts the zealots
to the real power of enquiring minds.
They quake and pull tighter
on their reins of appropriation,
driving in stakes to nods from tamed hacks.
But the knots loosen
and their ill-thought ambitions take form
as we hiss back at them.
Imagine a goose as big as a dinosaur
As angry as a wounded buffalo.
